We are a municipal government management consulting firm comprised of accredited professionals with direct experience working at executive levels within local government. Our goal is to help municipalities overachieve by helping them to chart and implement their unique path.

After spending over 30 years working in a municipal government environment, Michael Wildman, President of Municipal Government Wayfinders wanted to create a different kind of consulting firm – one with a specialized consultancy focused on building collaborative relationships with municipalities. The goal? To offer expert advice to local governments across the province for today’s challenges. Michael assembled a team of seasoned professionals with a broad range of municipal, administrative and political expertise.

Michael Wildman

With over 30 years of municipal government experience, Michael Wildman is our President and Principal Consultant. Michael is an award-winning municipal government expert whose career has included working for small, midsize and large municipalities at the lower, upper and single tier levels. Michael is often called upon to present and facilitate at conferences and professional events. In 2017, Michael was elected by his peers across Ontario as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks & Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO). Michael is also a graduate of the Professional Facilitator Program (PFP).

David Reid

David is a senior consultant with Municipal Government Wayfinders who brings a unique perspective to our clients. David was a two-term Mayor of the Town of Arnprior, where after a successful first term of office he was uncontested and acclaimed in his second term. David was Arnprior’s Head of Council during one of its most transformative periods. He led a change agenda which, saw innovative cost savings strategies, enhanced internal programming, and annual strategic plan adoption and adherence. David also oversaw the implementation of the pay-as-you-go financial model and 20-year long-range capital financial plans, a highly successful Downtown Revitalization project and many other lauded initiatives. David is a graduate of Queen’s University, a professional engineer, and a successful private business executive. Highly regarded for his business and government acumen, David has served on several provincial committees. In 2016, David was a special guest speaker on Municipal Governance issues from a mayor’s perspective at a Municipal Finance Officers’ Association of Ontario (MFOA) and Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks & Treasurers of Ontario (AMCTO) co-sponsored event.
